Lawyers Helped Gaitana Take the Helm of Her Own ShipRenowned Ukrainian singer Gaitana, who recently ended her 20-year collaboration with Lavina Music, has successfully secured intellectual property rights to all of her songs. The legal support for negotiations with the music holding company was provided by Skliarenko, Sydorenko & Partners Law Firm. "Since 2003, I have had the honor of working with Lavina Music. Together, we created a lot of amazing music and went through an incredible artistic journey. At the same time, we recently decided to part ways, as we had accomplished everything (and even more) that we had planned," said Gaitana (full name – Gaitana Essami). "We signed an agreement confirming my rights to all the songs, albums, and music videos created during this time. We have no financial or creative disputes with each other and are moving forward." "From now on, I am the captain of my own ship. So, stay tuned for new music. I hope you missed me, because I surely did. I have a feeling this new chapter will be amazing. See you on the next page of my musical story!" the singer added. Gaitana is known for her powerful voice and a unique blend of soul, pop, funk, and jazz. She launched her career in the early 2000s and gained popularity with hits such as "Dva vikna" (Two Windows), "Shaleniy" (Crazy), "Samotnya bosa" (Lonely Barefoot), "Slidom za toboyu" (Following You), and "Be My Guest", the latter of which she performed as Ukraine’s representative at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. The negotiation strategy and contract draft were prepared by the law firm’s managing partner, Oleksandr Skliarenko, who also represented Gaitana in discussions. Thanks to his efforts, conflicts and legal disputes—common in such cases—were avoided. "This case is a great example of how constructive dialogue and a professional approach can lead to a fair resolution without court proceedings," commented O. Sklyarenko on the agreement. "We are delighted that Gaitana has gained full control over her creative work and can now freely manage it in the future. This opens up new opportunities and creative horizons for her." Gaitana expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Skliarenko, saying: Contact us
